[Travel] Trend Korea by Explore Seoul, Gangwon, Gyeonggi & Jeju Island on November 2017 (Day 7)

by - Thursday, January 18, 2018

On the seventh day, we're starting our tour on 09:30 am after a simple breakfast at the hotel. This day is our last day on Jeju Island. We're going back to Seoul on night flight by Jeju Air. Even it's our last day at Jeju Island; we still have one day tour. The first place we're gone is Saebyeol Hill or Saebyeol Oreum (새별오름). This place is quite famous with silver grass during the autumn season.

It is located in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si. Saebyeol Oreum called as Hyoseongok is a parasitic volcano set alone that looks like a lonely star (Saetbyeol in Korean) in the night sky, giving this volcano its name. Based on the highest south peak, small peaks continue in the northwest direction, forming an oval-shape. The oreum is a mid-sized oreum among 360 areums on Jeju Island and it features a stunning view from the peak of the beautiful ridges connecting to one another.

It's a nice place to make photoshoot during the autumn season in Jeju Island. Along at the parking lot area, I saw many food trucks. Since we arrive there in morning so not have many of them were open. It's not I mention the wind is strong on that day and it makes me feel so cold. That why, we just spend around 30 minutes in this area for taking photos.

Address: Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 제주시 애월읍 봉성리 산 (애월읍)).

Then, we're moving to Hallasan Mountain or Hallasan National Park [UNESCO World Heritage] (한라산국립공원 [유네스코 세계자연유산]). Hallasan Mountain rises up proudly from the center of Jeju Island and it is perhaps the island's most memorable landmarks. It's also called as Mt. Yeongjusan, meaning "mountain high enough to pull the galaxy". Hallasan Mountain is widely known by scientists for its geological value. Designated as a national park in 1970, there are 368 parasitic volcanoes called Oreums (peaks) around the main mountain.

Hallasan Mountain is famous for its vertical ecosystem of plants that results from the varying temperatures along the mountainside. Over 1,800 kinds of plants and 4,000 species of animals (3,300 species of insects) have been identified; to explore the mountain's treasures, simply follow one of the well-developed mountain hiking trails. But we're not going there by hiking, they just straight drive to the top of Hallasan Mountain by car. We're just wanted to feel snow in Jeju Island since Jeju Island was snowing around the Peak of Hallasan Mountain.

Address: 2070-61, 1100-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 제주시 1100로 2070-61).

After that, we're going to eat lunch at nearby the Jeju National University. Just a simple lunch with the three kinds of different Korean meal by our choice.

After lunch, we're headed to Gingko Tree Street for taking beautiful photos.

Then, we're moving to the Aewol Monsant Café (몽상드 카페). One of the famous café in Jeju Island is Aewol Monsant Café. I'm pretty sure; you know who the owner of this café, right? Oh yes, the owner of the Aewol Monsant Café is Kwon Jiyong a.k.a G-Dragon (Big Bang). It really makes my dream come true when I get chance to visit this café.

The Monsant Café (몽상드 카페) is located in Aewol area; which is this café just beside the beautiful beach and ocean. The view of beach and ocean was wonderful and its look like the perfect place to hang out with your lover or friends and family. At the same time drinks your favorite coffee from Monsant Café. The operation hours are from 09:00 am until 19:00 pm on every day.

Address: Jeju-si, Aewol-eup, Aewol-ri 2546 (제주특별자치도 제주시 애월읍 애월리 2546).

Then, we're going to Jeju Dongmun Traditional Market (동문재래시장). Jeju Dongmun Traditional Market was established after the liberation in 1945. Due to a big fire that broke out in March 1954, the whole market and the nearby area was reduced to ashes. The market then moved to its current location and kept the original name. As one of the most popular traditional markets in Jeju, Dongmun has served countless customers, selling diverse items at inexpensive prices.

As I can saw in this market is the daily life of Jeju people buying their daily home goods. The average price is quite cheaper and they also friendly to us. Among the products offered are mackerel, small octopus, hairtail fish, abalone, fruits, clothes, general goods, herbs, bamboo, tangerine chocolate, makgeolli, Korean street foods, vegetable, and more.

Address: 20, Gwandeok-ro 14-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do (제주특별자치도 제주시 관덕로14길 20 (이도일동)).

Since we're finish an early tour of this day – she takes us to Emart in Jeju Island. We're just looking around there and buy the things we need at Seoul. Then, we're straight going back to the hotel and eat our dinner before we're headed to Jeju International Airport around 19:00 pm. She just drop us at the Airport, then I straight go to the check-in counter to check-in our luggage and take our boarding pass. Our flight by Jeju Air at Jeju International Airport at 21:00 pm and we safely arrived at Gimpo International Airport at 22:10 pm.

It's quite surprising when snowing during we touch down at the Gimpo International Airport. Again~ we're excited, especially my mom. She loves snow so much. We're lucky; it's still snowing until we're reaching our guesthouse. We never miss taking the photo with snow.

As I inform on my previous post – Day 4, I take a private group by Jeju Muslim Travel so this time I would like to write the honest review about my feeling during this trip. I start with the dislike moments; which are before they start the tour, they just tell us that we have to join another group for this day; even we're paying for the private group. Honestly, I not happy about that. The reason because something happens so they don't have enough guide. Yes, they apologize for it but I still not happy about it; plus they also can't prepare the itinerary early for my group even I already asking about it before I fly to Korea.

Even I ask to go a few places to them before this, they do not pay attention. The question is why I need to pay the private group but they can't take us to the places that we request? They just take us a few places on my request. They just prepare the itinerary on every morning before we start the tour. This is totally not professional for me, for some reasons they always change tour guide too. This is first time happening to me. I never get the experience like this before.

Another reason I don't like the management of this tour is the meal. The way they prepare the meal is beyond my imagination. Of course, they say we can't choose the meal but if the meal like that I eat during the Jeju Island trip, it's totally disappointed me. I love the Korean foods during my first time trip to Jeju Island – not like this the meal I want at Jeju Island. No wonder, many of their customers also feel the same with me.

The like moments, they are quite good recommended the nice halal foods street to us but during this trip, we just test a few halal foods street only. Another reason I like them is they good recommended the beautiful view forget the wonderful pictures. They also good take pictures for us, even recording the short video for my next project. It's great and I like it so much.

I hope in future, they can't make an order of the meal is same with another group because some of them not have same taste and feeling. Just try the different menu with various seafood meals. Try too to manage the management very well. I know this company is small but they can do the tour like big company too if they know how to manage the tour with different. That is my honest reviews about this private tour.
