[Travel] Short Vacation to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia on July 2017

by - Friday, July 28, 2017

Last 3 months ago, I just back holiday from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam with my family. Then the funny part is when my sister joke with me that she wants to buy ‘ikan masin' at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Lucky on that moment, Malaysia Airlines open the domestic flight promo. We never think twice, and then we're straight away booking our domestic flight (return) to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from Kuala Lumpur. So our mission is to buy ‘ikan masin' but my mom wants to go the Kundasang area so it's like our short vacation together.

This is my second time went holiday to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia with my family on last 5 years ago. I'm sure Kota Kinabalu, Sabah has a lot different now. Since my mom wants to go the Kundasang's area so we take agent at Sabah for arranging the private group for us as a ground package. We've gone to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 8 July 2017 until 10 July 2017. Just 3 days 2 nights only.

Our flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) was delay 2 hours. That means we've late arrived at KKIA. The travel agent's staff and their driver are pickups us at KKIA. Then we start tour to Tun Mustapha Tower, Rumah Terbalik, and Jambatan Gantung Tamparuli before we're headed to Kundasang area by car. The journey from Kota Kinabalu City to Ranau Area is around 3 hours. We're taken our dinner at Pekan Ranau.

Since we're feeling so tired so we're deciding to stay in the room after dinner; which is at Sulap Homestay – the view Kinabalu Mount. At the same time on that day, Ranau area is raining so we can't continue our tour at Kundasang area on the first day. The temperature on the night at Kundasang is around 10ºC.

The second day, we continue our tour at Kundasang area. We visit to the Desa Farm Cattle, War Memorial, Fish Spa, Sabah Tea, Kinabalu Park, and Pekan Nabalu. The view at Desa Farm Cattle is almost like you at New Zealand. We get the chance to try ice-cream with chocolate flavor. The fish spa is beside the Sabah Tea. This type of fish spa, I really scared because the fish is pretty big to me.

Then, we're headed to Kota Kinabalu City. We start shopping at Philippines Market before we're going to Seafood Restaurant. We take dinner with seafood style food and my mission is to eat lobster.

Last day, we're just gone to Signal Hill and Kampung Air. Then, we're straight gone to KKIA for going back KL. It's just simple short vacation with my family.

Even its short vacation, I have to face many problems with this travel agent. We take travel agent from Sabah – Adora Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd with private group package. The most part that makes me angry is when they change our previous hotel to another hotel at Kota Kinabalu city. It's the worst hotel ever in my life. The previous hotel, we suppose to stay at Promenade Apartment Kota Kinabalu because they may have a problem; then they change to Hotel Deeleeton Asia City. For me, this is not the hotel but motel and they also error booking our room. This travel agent is mostly used whatapps to communication with customers and never replies email. Their staffs also don't know to assist customers; what do I mean is their driver supposing waiting for us at KKIA arrive gate but he waits for us at near the parking area. The driver also new to doing this tour and he does not the have basic experience to assist guest; he just say hi to us and he left us like that at KKIA without saying to follow him. Since we're having balance payment to pay so their staff has to meet us at KKIA. Yes, he was meeting us but they way he greeted us like gangster without saying his name to us. They also keep taking us to the expensive place to shopping. So if you have the plan to visit Sabah in future, I advise in here – better you looking and survey the good travel agents before you make any booking.

That's all my stories about this short vacation with my family. I hope you're enjoying reading my travelogue stories this time. Just lets you know, all the photos are mostly taken by Fujifilm X-T10 and some of it by Samsung NX Mini (by selfie's photo) and also iPhone 6. I would like to give credit to my sister and my Mama, who is patient to take my photos on this vacation. Hihihi~
