Hello Konya!

On day 4, we are going to Konya, Turkey. This day does not has many places to visit, it's just 2 places only. I feel so sad to say goodbye to Cappadocia, Turkey. It is so beautiful places and I can feel I have to explore more around Cappadocia, Turkey.

The journey from Cappadocia to Konya is 243 KM and its takes around 3 hours 30 minutes by bus. I enjoy the view along our journey from Cappadocia to Konya.

My group of this tour.

When we are arrival at Konya, Turkey; we visit the Sultanhani Caravanserai, a "hotel" for ancient traders and travelers. Sultan Han is a large 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai located in the town of Sultanhani, Aksaray Province, Turkey. It is one of the three monumental caravanserais in the neighborhood of Aksaray and is located about 40 KM west of Aksaray on the road to Konya.

The khan is entered at the east, through a fish tag, a 13-m-high gate made from marble, which projects from the front wall (itself 50 m wide). The pointed arch enclosing the gate is decorated with muqarnas corbels and a geometrically patterned plating. This main gate leads into a 44 x 58 m open courtyard that was used in the summer. A similarly decorated archway on the far of the open courtyard, with a muqarnas niche, joggled voussoirs and interlocking geometric designs, leads to a covered courtyard (iwan), which was for winter use.

The central aisle of the covered hall has a barrel-vaulted ceiling with transverse rib, with a short dome-capped tower over the center of the vault. The dome has an oculus to provide air and light to the hall.

A square stone kiosk-mosque (köşk mescidi), the oldest example in Turkey, is located in the middle of the open courtyard. A construction of four carved barrel-vaulted arches supports the mosque on the second floor. Stables with accommodation above were located in the arcades on the both side of the inner courtyard.

Then, it is the time for our lunch at Konya.

Sorry, this photos turn like this.

Sorry, this photos turn like this.

This is a set meal, which is start with soup and bread; salad; pizza; the main course is chicken with rice; the desert is apple. It's so delicious.

We are continuing our journey to Konya City. We visited the Tomb of Mevlana, a famous Turkish philosopher whose students created Whirling Ceremonies. The Mevlana Museum (Mevlana Müzesi), also known as the Green Mausoleum or Green Dome, is the original lodge of the Mevlevi Whirling Dervishes, a mystical Sufi Muslim group. It contains the tomb and shrine of the Mevlana, or Rumi, which remains an important place of pilgrimage.

The dervish lodge (tekke) includes a semahane, where the ritual sema or whirling ceremony takes place, a sadirvan for ritual ablutions, a library, living and teaching quarters, and the mausoleum housing the tomb of Celaleddin Rumi, founder of the sect and later awarded the honorable title of Mevlana. His inscription reads: "Do not seek our tombs on this earth - our tombs are in the hearts of the enlightened."

The mausoleum room is highly ornamented with Islamic script and enameled reliefs, and contains the tombs of several of the most important figures of the dervish order. The main tomb enclosed behind a silver gate crafted in 1597 is that of Mevlana. The tomb of his father, Bahaeddin Veled, is upright and adjacent to his son's, a position that signifies respect.

The adjoining room, or the semihane, is now a museum of Mevlana memorabilia displaying musical instruments and robes belonging to Mevlana, along with Selçuk and Ottoman objects like gold-engraved Korans from the 13th century. Among the fabulous ancient prayer, rugs are the most valuable silk carpet in the world.

The most things, I never miss to take photos around Mevlana Museum (Mevlana Müzesi) is Tulips flowers. It's so beautiful. It's one of my missions when I decide to take the vacation at Turkey.

I don't how many time, I lost just for taking photos with tulips.
