[Travel] Wonderful Trip to Turkey with Spring Tulip 2016, Day 5

by - Thursday, June 16, 2016

For me, on Day 5 is the long journey. This is because we're traveling from Konya to Pamukkale in 404 KM, which is taking around 5 hours 30 minutes journey by bus. After breakfast at Dundar Hotel Konya, we move to Pamukkale in the morning.

As you can see the petrol price at Turkey. The most expensive is 4.39 Lira.

The view along the journey from Konya to Pamukkale is so beautiful with natural beautiful. I can see the beautiful of mountains, gardens, field, forest and also the windmills.

Even it's 5 hours 30 minutes journey, but it's not mean we do not stop at the rest house.

Sorry, this photo turn like this. This is the yogurt, honey and poppy seed, like a desert.

Mix all, then eat.

Thanks to our Tour Leader Mr. Zues for his treat to this tour group. He would like to buy us the famous foods at Pamukkale, which is yogurt, honey, and poppy seed. I not sure with its name by he make a joke to us and he told us, it's "dadah halal" or "halal drug".

After we're trying it, I not feel anything except it's delicious but my family members feel is swing a little bit. They say they feel so sleepy after they eat it. Normally, Turkish people eat this for their healthy.

When we arrive at Izmir Province, we take lunch first before we start the tour at Hierapolis and Cotton Castle. I think our group is lucky because Ms. Gulhan arranges to us the BEST lunch ever in Turkey, which is the famous lamb steak in Izmir – Sabanoglu Gill Restaurant in Izmir.

My family and me was enjoy the delicious lamb steak.

Normally, the tourist does not eat at this restaurant because it's so expensive and most of their customer is Turkish citizen but I would like to said Thank You so much to Ms. Gulhan and her Travel Agent in Turkey for bringing us to that restaurant. I get the chance to eat most delicious lamb steak ever in my life. I also fall in love with this restaurant concept. It's so beautiful with the small garden.

Sorry, this photo turn like this.

Sorry this photo turn like this. This is lamb steak.

Sorry, this photo turn like this. This is Turkish ice-cream.

It's set meal so they start with soup and bread; salad; the main course is lamb steak, and lastly is Turkish Ice-cream. Everything is perfect to me, especially lamb steak. I don't know how to describe it, but everything was great.

The entrance gate of Hierapolis and Cotton Castle.

Sorry, this photo turn like this. This is the entrance ticket.

After lunch, we start our tour at Hierapolis and Cotton Castle as known as Pamukkale. It's just close by from Sabanoglu Gill Restaurant. Just around 10 minutes only. Actually, Hierapolis and Cotton Castle is in the same place but this place quite huge too. Of course, we have to walk to explore Hierapolis and Cotton Castle.

Deriving from springs in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape, made up of the mineral forest, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins.

At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples, and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site.

I got the chance to feel the mineral waters at Cotton Castle with my mom and sister but my dad doesn't want to try so he just sits at the entrance and watching us from there. This minerals water is good for skins and body. A little bit advice, when you walk around the minerals water floors – please be careful your steps. It's so slippery and dangerous.

After a long day, I was check-in room hotel at Colossea Thermal Hotel just for 1 night only. This hotel was providing the indoor swimming pool with mineral waters too but they required wearing swimming suit with swimming cap. One more thing, this hotel not has the lift and free WiFi but you can rental pocket WiFi from them. Here, our room and we take our dinner at this hotel too.

I think the majority of guest who is staying at this hotel would like to take dinner at the dinner. They were served many meals for us to enjoy our dinner. It's delicious. After dinner, I take rest in the room.
