Each and every day at Koreastay is a rewarding opportunity for you to experience what real life is like in Korea.

“With warm hearts, the hosts of Koreastay are waiting for you.”

What is Koreastay?

Koreastay is a Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) certified homestay program that provides international visitors with a special opportunity to experience Korean culture and lifestyle by living with a Korean family for a desired amount of time.

The Question & Answer Session:

1. What is the biggest advantage of a homestay?
You can enjoy Korean home cooked meals and various cultural activities. Above all, you can experience the real charm and true aspects of Korea through the friendship you will develop with your host family.

2. How can I communicate with homestay family?
The Koreastay certification is granted to hosts only when at least one member of the host family can communicate in a foreign language (English, Japanese, or Chinese or others). The KTO also offers language assistance through its tourism information and telephone interpretation service (1300). The service is available 24/7.

3. How can my homestay family help me? (At an addition cost)
You can ask your host family to pick you up or drop you off at the airport or a place near the host’s home. Breakfast is included and lunch or dinner can be offered for an additional fee. In addition, you can take a walk or shop for groceries with your host family and get information and guidance about traveling in Korea or about the Korean lifestyle.

4. How can I make a reservation for Koreastay?
You can make a reservation by visiting the Koreastay website at www.koreastay.or.kr

5. How much does the homestay cost?
The cost varies depending on the type of room, but the minimum rate is 30 dollars (35,000 won). You can find an accommodation price and other information on the Koreastay website.
